Amado | EMS

St. Louis, MO (January 22, 2018) – Enhanced Medical Services (EMS) has hired Amado Diaz III to head sales in the Caribbean and Latin America.  The ophthalmic equipment company has aggressive plans to expand its international business, including the addition of an office in South America.

“Amado has an impressive reputation in the global market, and this is one of our key focus areas for future growth,” said Tony Genovese, CEO of EMS.  “His depth of knowledge of our products and commitment to customer service make him an invaluable addition to the EMS team.”

Diaz brings an international background to the St. Louis-based company. Fluent in both English and Spanish, he has worked extensively in the Caribbean and South America. Additionally, he has been in the ophthalmic industry for over 16 years and has experience in sales, equipment repair, and purchasing. As a result, Diaz will be able to foster relationships with ODs/MDs and labs in Latin America to help create customized equipment and service packages for his clients based on their individual needs.

“One goal of mine is to bring quality equipment and technical support to the Latin American and Caribbean market.  The value and resources that EMS can bring to those areas is greatly needed,” explains Diaz.

The past four years have shown extensive growth for EMS, beginning with the acquisitions of Texas-based Universal Ophthalmics and Chicago-based Star Ophthalmics. Last year, EMS purchased Vision Systems Inc. (VSI), based out of Tarpon Springs, Florida which also secured the company’s first private label brand, Burton Ophthalmic.

“We have a solution for every aspect of what our customers need,” Genovese explains.  “This sets us apart from any and all competition and allows us to be a true consultant when helping our customer make the best financial decision for their business. We now have an extensive team, access to a wide variety of new and used ophthalmic products at various price points, and a distribution model to ensure that any ophthalmic practice can depend on EMS as a true partner.”
